How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

When evaluating the differences between devices from different cochlear implant (CI) manufacturers, there are few reports on patients implanted with bilateral CIs from two different CI manufacturers. This case study reports on a paediatric CI recipient implanted bilaterally with devices from two different CI manufacturers.According to pre-operative imaging there were no pathological findings.CI surgery was performed according to the manufacturer's instruction for use.Post-operative CT imaging confirmed that the electrodes were placed correctly inside the cochlea.Despite these findings, the subject had a subjective preference for their MED-EL CI device.Bilateral CI is becoming common and information from patients implanted bilaterally with bi-brands should be brought together to ascertain the compatibility of these devices and implications of bi-brand use.
