How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The article presents an approach to the development and implementation of a virtual course of basic military training using extended reality (XR) technologies. The objective of the present study is to demonstrate the potential of immersive educational solutions for the formation of fundamental military-applied skills in conditions that exclude the use of real weapons. The technological basis of the study was formed by the Unity XR Toolkit and 3D models of small arms (AK-74 and Makarov pistol) created in Blender. Scenarios for assembly, disassembly and training shooting were implemented, providing for the real-time tracking of students’ actions and error correction. This study focuses on the technical aspects of implementing interaction in the virtual reality (VR) environment and the pedagogical effects of such integration, including the involvement and adaptability of the educational process. The potential for integrating the solution into formal educational programmes for basic military training, with the aim of developing fundamental skills in a cyber environment, is a subject that is discussed in this paper. The proposed approach has the potential to reduce costs, increase safety and flexibility of training, while maintaining the practical focus of training.
