Abstract
In the modern world, parallel computing has become a mandatory part of the field of programming and computational mathematics. The article describes the existing types of parallel computing. The focuses on the ability to create programs for the parallel solution of information processing problems in databases as mandatory conditions for the formation of the subject competence of students of the information profile. The author considers some methodological methods of teaching students parallel programming, contributing to the formation of their parallel style of thinking and acquiring practical skills in organizing parallel computing in a database in the process of subject training at a university. A characteristic feature of the application of these training methods is the logic between the sections where user preparation for working with databases is implemented and the sections focused on mastering the basics of parallel computing
