How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Pemphigus vulgaris, pemphigus foliaceus, paraneoplastic pemphigus, drug-induced pemphigus, IgA pemphigus refer to a family of pemphigus diseases, which are autoimmune bullous dermatoses. These conditions are characterized by the formation of vesicles and bullae on the skin and mucous membranes due to autoantibodies targeting desmosomal proteins, which lead to loss of cellular adhesion within the epidermis. Diagnosis of pemphigus diseases can be challenging due to the potential for overlapping clinical features and the serious consequences of late or incorrect diagnosis. Differential diagnosis in combination with epidemiology, clinical evaluation and laboratory testing including histopathology, direct/indirect immunofluorescence and enzyme immunoassay is necessary for accurate diagnosis and classification of pemphigus diseases, allowing for appropriate management and treatment to minimize morbidity and mortality from bullous dermatoses.
