How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Skin has important barrier functions against a variety of exogenous factors and pathogenic microorganisms, as well as plays an important role in thermoregulation, metabolic processes and sensory perception. In addition, the aesthetic component of the skin is also important. Currently, people are increasingly concerned about age-related facial skin changes (wrinkles and pigmented spots appearance, sagging, dull and dry skin, uneven skin tone). There are many cosmetic and treatment procedures that help to improve the condition of aging skin. Nevertheless, their effectiveness is often assessed subjectively, namely how the patient and doctor are visually satisfied with the treatment results. Therefore, the issue of objective evaluation of these procedures’ effectiveness is relevant. We have considered non-invasive hardware methods of skin condition diagnosis (dermoscopy, skin elasticity measurement, mexametry, assessment of transepidermal water loss, confocal microscopy, sebumetry, spectroscopy), which are used not only for the primary diagnosis of skin condition, but also for the objective evaluation of cosmetic and treatment procedures’ effectiveness. Repeatability, efficiency and interpretability are critical aspects for the device to be considered valid and reliable.
