How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Objective: Arterial hypertension is defined as increasing of office systolic blood pressure higher 140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure higher 90 mmHg. Prevalence of hypertension is high and continue to increase, especially in young population. The purpose of the study is to assess the prevalence of arterial hypertension in young non-organized population of Republic of Kazakhstan. Design and method: Prospective cross-sectional studies were conducted in 2021 in Kazakhstan, included 1110 young adults of both sexes (670 women (60%) and 440 men (40%)) of mean age - 31±8 years (95% CI 31-32). Special survey, including cardiovascular risk factors assessment, blood pressure and heart rate measurement were performed. Statistical test was performed by the StatTech, Russia Results: 349 (31%) had never their blood pressure measured before. 255 respondents were identified with pre-existing and newly diagnosed arterial hypertension during screening (23%), of which 103 people at the time of the study knew about their diagnosis (40%). The newly diagnosed arterial hypertension was identified in 14%. Conclusions: According to the screening the prevalence of arterial hypertension – 23% in young non-organized population of Kazakhstan. It is clear that majority of respondents did not know the high levels of blood pressure before. This fact emphasizes the necessity of screening and annual assessment of hypertension prevalence, especially in young population.
