How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: To study the development characteristics of metabolic syndrome and risk factors in civil servants of Astana city.Methods. The study was conducted in Astana with two groups of study, main group and control group. These groups were consist of 475 people working in civil service and people working in other fields of service aged 18 to 63.Results. To conduct the study we selected people with metabolic syndrome in accordance with the criteria of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF 2009), we also reviewed the case with prevalence of metabolic syndrome in people of studied groups. In the main group, the incidence of metabolic syndrome was 10.6% lower than in the control group and it was found that the majority of them were 53.5% men. The differences between metabolic syndrome components compared to the control group, in men: triglycerides, blood glucose level, high arterial blood pressure (p<0.05), and in women: triglycerides, high-density lipoproteins, high arterial blood pressure (p<0.05). It was noticed, that the combination of the metabolic syndrome components in both groups occurs mainly in the form of waist + glucose + triglyceride circumference. In addition, high arterial blood pressure, triglyceride and smoking were identified as the leading risk factors of this pathological condition among the respondents.Conclusions. There is a characteristic tendency of spreading the metabolic syndrome, the course of components and the accompanying situation among civil servants. It is based on risk factors that influenced. In this way, the given study results can be used as a basis for the formation of preventive measures of metabolic syndrome among civil servants. Keywords: metabolic syndrome, civil servants, prevalence characteristics, risk factors
