How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Bovine colostrum (BC) is rich in many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidant substances. Its supplementation provides health benefits, articularly for athletes. This systematic review was carried out to update on the benefit of BC or its formulations (e.g., colostrinin) on the cognitive functions or their related biomarkers in experimental and human studies. Full texts or abstracts of 219 articles as reports of narrative or systematic reviews, randomized controlled clinical trials, observational studies, and experimental studies (in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo) were included after searches in PubMed, Europe PMC, Google scholar databases. The full texts of eligible articles (25 articles) were assessed and their results were summarized in different categories according to the study design. Bovine colostrum or its related formulations have been shown to be useful as they improve cognitive functions and their biomarkers. Compatible resultswere observed in experimental and human studies. Further studies are mandatory to elucidate the rationale for using (BC) in healthy subjects and patients with impaired of cognitive functions.
