How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

In this chapter, we will discuss that the classical therapy of solid cancers is surgery, which is often combined with radiation therapy and cytotoxic chemotherapy. The latter is an economic way of cancer treatment but often causes side effects. Nowadays, the application of NGS methods, such as exome and whole genome sequencing, enables a detailed analysis of the molecular complexity of cancer in general as well as a focus on the individual case. In particular, understanding the role of kinases as drivers in the tumorigenesis process allowed the design of inhibitory molecules, many of which are successfully applied as anticancer drugs with high precision. The combination of genomic analysis with the increasing number of specific anticancer drugs and the expanding variety of immune therapies permits a more precise treatment of each individual cancer case.
