How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

With tumor progression metabolism of the body is disturbed and toxic metabolites, entering the blood, can affect the structure of organs distant from tumor growth. The kidneys are one of the main excretory organs with high blood flow. Therefore, it is extremely important to correct their structure and function in conditions of peripheral tumor growth.Purpose of the study was to reveal structural changes in the kidney under conditions of peripheral tumor growth and lithium carbonate treatment. The work was performed on CBA male mice weighing 18–20 g at the age of 3 months. To model tumor growth, the hepatocellular carcinoma-29 cell line was used. To study the antitumor effects of lithium carbonate, mice received lithium salt per os at a dose of 125 mg/kg of body weight. The sampling of material for studying kidney structure was carried out on the 30th day of the experiment. Animals were taken out of the experiment by the method of cranio-cervical dislocation.Light electron microscopy and immunohistochemical analysis were used to study the structure of the kidney. Kidney proximal tubules cells were analyzed at 3,000 magnification by morphometry The volume density of lysosomes, autophagosomes, and autolysosomes was estimated. As a result of immunohistochemical and ultrastructural studies, a stimulating effect of lithium carbonate on the autophagy development in kidney proximal tubules cells of animals with tumor growth was revealed: the volume density of autophagic structures – autophagosomes, lysosomes, and autolysosomes were increased.
