How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The burial place, conventionally named “the Tostagan necropolis”, is located 9 km south of thesettlement of Shytty, Otyrar district. The burial ground was discovered by S. Sh. Akylbek and K. M Baipakovduring exploration work. In the 2010, the Necropolis consists of 122 mounds. Most of the moundsare circular. Mounds with a spreading embankment are oval in shape. The diameter of the burial moundsin the general burial ground is 10-25 m, the height is about 0.30-0.70 m. Unfortunately, until now noarchaeological research at the necropolis has been carried out dating the burial mounds, the methodsof burial, the features of the structure of the mounds and the belonging of the burials were unknown. In2020, one burial mound was excavated in this burial ground. As a result, it was discovered that the formof burial is cremation. This is the first time such a custom has been registered in the Otrar region. Thesedata were compared with other archaeological studies carried out on the banks of the Syr Darya andwere preliminary generalized as belonging to the Turks.Key words: Shaulder, Otrar, Arys river, burial traditions, grave, burial ground, cremation
