How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The study progression of the elderly population in the world and an increasing mortality rate of old age diseases ‐ cardiovascular system, diabetes, neurodegenerative processes, reducing resistance to infections, malignancies contributes to the relevance of healthy nutrition issues for human body. The purpose of the study is an assessment the actual nutrition practice among elderly living in Astana. The study involved 54 people aged 60 – 70 years old living in Astana. The method of 24‐hour diet recall and statistics methods were used. The analysis of dietary intake is revealed that the average caloric content of older people diet in Astana was about 2000 kcal, primarily due to animal protein. Whereas, the content of dietary fiber in the diet of majority older people is only 22% of the recommended standards, and only a minority of elderly dietary fiber content of 55% of the recommended norms. The content of vitamins A, group B, C, PP, E ranges from 37% to 53% of the recommended norms, which causes high morbidity rate in this population. This implies that there should be promotion of healthy nutrition and proper eating behavior model of the population since early age and throughout life. Preservation of high caloric intake in old age affects human health. Thus, studies have shown a direct relationship between the health of older people and their diet.
