How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

In the modern world of computer technologies and machine translations the procedure of translationhas changed dramatically. The environment in which the students are studying now is very different fromthe environment for which our textbooks are designated. Therefore the fact that machine translationshave become an integral part of the translation procedure should be taken into account in the educational process in teaching the course of Scientific Technical Translation. In all the articles available inthe Internet the problem of machine/computer translation is considered only in terms of mistakes in thecomputer translation and corrections made by professional human translators. In this article the authorsfocus on pluses and minuses of using computer translation in teaching the course of Scientific TechnicalTranslation. The authors have shown that computer translation and comparison of different translationsof the same text has a positive effect on the educational process, and gives the students an impetus forcreative thinking and creative assessment of their results. However, the authors have revealed that sucha simple way of getting a translated text without any efforts spent on searching individual words has anegative effect on learning new words. Therefore the authors recommend to intensify pre-translationaland post-translational exercises focused on active lexis of the translated text.
