How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This article presents an overview of the results of practical and basic research in the field of pancreatology, published in year 2019. The achievements of leading European pancreatologists in the study of the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment of pancreatitis, pancreatic tumors are briefly described. The article presents the clinical features of acute and chronic pancreatitis, depending on the presence of a variety of concomitant pathology, genetic characteristics, bad health habits, drugs intake. New possibilities have been considered for the differential diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer using miRNA, as well as the feasibility of determining the soluble urokinase‑type plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) in order to differentiate benign and malignant tumors of the pancreas. The approaches to the diagnosis of abdominal pain, the use of computed tomography for the diagnosis of sarcopenia are described. The results of basic research that analyzed the mechanisms of pancreatic cancer development are presented. The modern theory of the role of microbiota and the syndrome of excessive bacterial growth in the pancreatic oncogenesis processes is revealed. Emphasis is placed on the pathogenetic features of the formation of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and the effectiveness of its correction through enzyme replacement therapy with the use of modern drugs. The results of randomized controlled studies that have shown the effectiveness and safety of microtablet preparation in the correction of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in patients undergoing pancreatoduodenectomy are presented.
