How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Lung cancer occupies an exceptional position. It is a rare exampleof a malignant disease with firmly established and delineated etiologicalfactors. In fact, in most cases, the occurrence of the lung cancer can beassociated with smoking; Moreover, this tumor can be connected withother carcinogenic agents in the inhaled air such as radon gas. Radon isthe second leading cause of lung cancer. The aim of our work was tostudy the C-KIT protein expression by immunohistochemical method andidentification of germ-line mutations in lung cancer patients who live inAlmaty, where the radon level exceeds its norm. The methods chosen tocarry out this study were a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with a subsequent analysis of restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) andimmunohistochimical analysis (IHC). The object of research were bloodsamples and biopsies obtained from lung cancer patients who are receiving treatment at the Almaty Oncology Center and living in Almaty. Ourstudies didn’t reveal any mutations in the C-KIT gene, but they showedthat 34.09% of lung cancer patients have overexpression in a tumor tissue. It testifies to the fact that disorders occurred in the cells of the tumor tissue, that are not inherited. Based on our observations, we arrived at conclusionthat a high radon emanation has caused disorder in the C-KIT gene, whichled to its overexpression.Key words: C-KIT, Expression, radon, IHC, lung cancer.
