How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: A surgical method for correction of high and extreme myopia was developed. METHODS: The corneal optical zone is flattened by bringing strip-shaped corneal grafts into the interlamellar tunnel surrounding the corneal optical centre. Instruments and an operative technique were developed. RESULTS: In 72 operations on rabbits, dependency of the refractive effect on ring diameter and transplant thickness was revealed. In the clinic, the average refractve effect of 100 consecutive standard operations was 10.1 +/- 2.0 D. The maximal refractive effect was 14.5 D. Regression of the refractive effect was 12%. CONCLUSION: Ring tunnel keratoplasty was shown to be a reliable method of optical correction.
