How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Computer tomography (CT) is the most informative diagnostic technique in the field of ENT Surgery. Goal of the research: to examine CT variants of nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses anatomy of patient with chronic dacryocystitis, which determine the strategy of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy. Materials and methods: Weconducted a study on 5273 CT scans of nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. 180 patients with chronic dacryocystitis , which had anatomical peculiarities nasal cavity were operated. Investigation results: The research has shown that the patients should be pre-surgical separated on 5 groups depending on the surgery. In the first group of patients (72, 0 % of cases) performed only dacryocystorhinostomy. In the second group of patients (22.1%) also had different types of septal deformations which required surgical correction. The third group (7.2% of cases) the patients had hypertrophy and bulla of the middle turbinate. The fourth group (2,8% of cases) had inflammatory diseases of paranasal sinuses. The fifth group (1,3% of cases) were patients with congenital anomalies of the facial skeleton, which required the extended surgical interference with full correction of revealed changes. Conclusion CT-research of patients with chronic purulant dacryocystitisin pre-surgical preparations reveals at the average up to 28,0% of various changes in the nasal cavity, which need to surgical correction.
