How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Recently, the internet of things (IoT) technologies are being applied in various areas, including industries, smart cities, smart homes, education, etc. The IoT technologies are able to measure data from a physical world and transmit it to cloud/server through a network for further use. The IoT systems adapt working procedures to automate them, which allows them to be remotely controlled by users. Furthermore, power consumption is reduced in ecosystems. In educational institutes, data gained from student devices is used for analytics and processes for increasing the students’ performances on lessons. In addition, devices become “smart” when artificial intelligence (AI) converges with IoT. The work in this chapter is divided into two parts. In the first part, IoT systems applied in the education sector are reviewed and IoT solutions are discussed. IoT solutions in wearable devices, healthcare, ecosystems, real-time monitoring, and smart classrooms are described and discussed. In the second part, a roadmap of the development process of IoT devices is proposed, including security, big data, and AI.
