Abstract
Abstract Complex formation between poly(ethylene glycol) and 4‐nitrophenol in solutions and melts was investigated by potentiometric and conductometric titration, IR spectroscopy and thermal analysis. It is shown that the interaction of the polymer with the low molecular compound is carried out through hydrogen bonds between the oxygen atoms of the polymer and the hydroxyl groups of 4‐nitrophenol. It depends on the molar ratio of the components and on the temperature of the solution.
