How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The paper looks at the origins of the environmental management master's programme in Kazakhstan course and its development over the 7 years for which it has operated. It considers the difficulties of teaching, in particular issues covering the diverse range of topics covered, the need for staff training and development and how this has been approached, and the need to gain financial aid to support the students. Details are given of how students are selected, the range of backgrounds and geographical regions from which they come, and the types of employment they take on graduation. In total 110 students have benefited from the course which has proved an attractive alternative to overseas study.
