How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Principles of formation and functioning of natural systems and features of landscape structure of theterritory of North Kazakhstan region are among the least studied areas in physical-and-geographical researchesof the region. This can be explained by the fact that at the regional level there were no complexlandscape-geographical works held within recent years. The article shows the results of the landscape structure study of the North Kazakhstan region territorywithin the steppe natural zone. Basing on the summary of the collected stock and published literary andcartographic materials, space images and field survey results we studied the peculiarities of geosystemsformation, structure and territorial distribution. This work was performed through a complex of approachesincluding field, landscape-geographical, comparative-geographical and cartographic methods, system and cross analysis, extrapolation, GIS etc. With the help of GIS we conducted mapping of naturalcomplexes of the study area and developed an electronic landscape map. The analysis of the createdlandscape map allowed us to identify the principles of territorial distribution and relationships of naturalcomplexes of different taxonomic rank. The results of the study can serve as a basis for preparation ofvarious derivative electronic maps on a single landscape basis and can be used for further studies of naturalcomplexes of the region. Understanding the characteristics of formation, functioning and structuralorganization of geosystems has important practical value.
