How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

A method for calculating the coefficient of capture of small (dust) particles by a drop that allows one to take into account the influence of the surface tension and the hydrodynamic resistance of a particle being immersed in a drop is proposed. The dependence of the critical particle velocity necessary to overcome the surface tension forces and the pressure resistance on the governing parameters is found. The existence of a critical Stokes number limiting the region of particle capture is demonstrated. The calculated dependences of the coefficient of capture on the Stokes number are compared with the experimental data. It is found that in comparison with the conventional method, the relation obtained using the proposed method is in better agreement with the experimental data.
