Abstract
Gold (AuNPs) and palladium (PdNPs) nanoparticles were synthesized within the matrix of macroporous cryogels based on N, N-dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate (DMAEM) and methacrylic acid (MAA). The structure and morphology of pristine cryogels, shape and size of AuNPs and PdNPs immobilized within the matrix of cryogels were evaluated by FTIR and SEM. The obtained nanocomposites of AuNPs and PdNPswere tested as nanocatalystsin the reduction of 4-nitrobenzoic acid(4-NBA) to corresponding 4-aminobenzoic acid (4-ABA). The reduction of p-NBA proceeded in mild conditions andthe catalytic process was monitored by UV spectroscopy. Kinetic studies show that palladium nanocatalysts are more active than that of gold one in the reduction of aromatic nitrocompound. The kinetic parameters and activation energies of catalytic reactions were found.
