Abstract
The article examines the current state of the telecommunications industry in Kazakhstan for the period 2016-2023. The key indicators of the sector's development are analyzed, including the number of enterprises, the volume of communication services provided, investments in fixed assets, as well as the dynamics of subscribers to fixed and wireless Internet access. The main trends in the industry have been identified, based on data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is shown that there is a steady increase in the number of enterprises and the volume of services provided, and it is also determined that investments in telecommunications infrastructure are increasing significantly, especially in recent years. It has been established that the number of fixed telephone lines is decreasing against the background of an increase in broadband subscribers. It is shown that digitalization and government support contribute to the development of the industry, but challenges remain related to digital inequality, differences in access to Internet services in the regions and the need for further modernization of networks. The necessity of stimulating investments, introducing innovative technologies, improving state policy in the field of telecommunications and strengthening measures to eliminate the digital divide is substantiated. The practical significance of the research lies in the formation of recommendations for government agencies, telecom operators and investors on the development of telecommunications infrastructure, optimization of sector regulation and removal of barriers to digital growth. Promising directions for further development of the industry are proposed, taking into account global technological trends and the needs of the national economy.
