Abstract
The article represents results of experimental studies of magnesia composite materials obtained on the basis of caustic magnesite and porous aggregate. The porous aggregate is synthesized from a mixture of liquid glass and aluminosilicate filler. The porous aggregate has packed density of 310 − 330 kg/m3. Composition and structure of the materials were investigated using X-ray phase analysis and electron microscopy. The analysis of mathematical models reflecting dependence of density and strength of composite materials on the composition of molding mixture made it possible to establish rational relationships between magnesia binder and aggregate. Optimal compositions of composite materials are characterized by density of 750 − 850 kg/m3 and compressive strength of 7.5 − 9.0 MPa. Magnesia composites are distinguished by reliable adhesion of the binder stone to the aggregate. Development of composite materials is aimed at increasing energy efficiency of construction.
