How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

We have studied the effect of sintering temperature on the structural and phase transformations of alloys produced by the spark plasma sintering of Ti + 23.5 at % Al + 21 at % Nb powder mixtures at temperatures in the range 1100–1550°C. The sintered alloys have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (elemental X-ray mapping). The alloys sintered at temperatures of 1100 and 1200°C have been shown to have a nonuniform microstructure. According to electron microscopy results, the alloys consist of grains of the α 2 and Nb 2 Al phases and small precipitates of the O-phase (intermetallic compound Ti 2 AlNb). In addition, there are particles of unreacted niobium and titanium. The alloys sintered at a temperature of 1300°C have a uniform lamellar structure.
