Abstract
Oxidative alkoxylations of P4 in toluene-alcohol solutions are studied. These reactions need oxygen, a catalyst (PdCl2, RuOHCl3, RuCl3) and a co-oxidant (CuCl2, NaNO2, FeCl3, 1,4-henzoquinone, NaBrO3). Trialkylphosphates (RO)3P(O) and dialkylphosphites (RO)2P(O)H are the major products of the reaction. Kinetic experiments concerning the rate of absorption of O2 during these reactions are also reported.
