How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most prevalent cause of dementia among elderly people. This paper presents a deep learning model based on capsule networks for the classification of AD and Normal Control (NC) using MRI images taken from the ADNI dataset. Our framework introduces several modifications to the original capsule networks in order to significantly reduce the number of trainable parameters so that it can be implemented in computers with limited GPU while obtaining comparable results with the literature. According to the overall results of subject independent and subject dependent experiments, the proposed framework compares favorably with many existing approaches while having fewer parameters and/or using a smaller number of MRI images in AD and NC classes.
