It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. Based on extensive field collections (2000-2014) in Kazakhstan and a review of the material in the National Institute of Zoology of Kazakhstan, we identified 68 species of aquatic Hemiptera from 11 families. Most species have broad zoogeographic distribution, dominated by West Eurasian fauna (18 species) and West Palearctic fauna (10 species). Details of habitats, feeding types, and life history are included for the described species.
