How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Abstract There is an increasing need for the development of probes for the detection of hexavalent chromium since it is a known carcinogen, which can cause adverse effects on human health. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have shown successful detection and removal of hazardous substances from aqueous media. This work presents the use of simple organic ligands such as 3-pyridinecarboxaldehyde and trimesic acid with Zn(II) ion to fabricate a new MOF that exhibits sensitive and selective luminescence quenching response towards CrO 4 2− and Cr 2 O 7 2− species in aqueous solution. The MOF showed a detection limit of 0.67 μ M (0.078 ppm) as CrO 4 2− species and 1.91 μ M (0.41 ppm) as Cr 2 O 7 2− species. Results reveal that the as-synthesized MOF could serve as a good luminescent sensor for CrO 4 2− and Cr 2 O 7 2− species in the contaminated aqueous phase.
