How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Osteoporosis, a prevalent skeletal disorder characterized by weakened bone strength, significantly increases the risk of bone fracture, especially among the elderly. It affects a substantial portion of the aging population, with 26% of women aged 65 and above, and over half of women aged 85 and above, suffering from this disease in the United States. Globally, osteoporosis leads to millions of fractures annually, resulting in considerable healthcare costs and impacts on the population’s quality of life. This review provides a detailed analysis of osteoporosis epidemiology, qualityof- life impacts, and advances in prevention and treatment strategies. By examining recent data, this study aims to identify gaps in current approaches, highlight regional disparities, and assess emerging interventions that can improve treatment adherence and outcomes. The findings underscore the urgency of tailored public health policies and proactive management strategies to address osteoporosis’s growing impact worldwide. This work contributes valuable insights for enhancing clinical practice, reducing fracture rates, and promoting bone health in aging populations.
