Abstract
The study aimed to identify the characteristics and challenges of legal regulation regarding the inheritance of intellectual property rights in the context of digitalisation and economic globalisation. The methodological basis included systemic, comparative-legal, and interdisciplinary approaches. The results of the study indicated that contemporary legal regulation of the inheritance of digital intellectual property objects is at a formative stage and does not meet the challenges of the digital economy. It was established that the absence of a unified concept of digital inheritance leads to ambiguity in heirs’ access to digital assets and complicates the protection of their rights. It was formulated that the use of blockchain technologies and digital twins can serve as an effective tool to ensure transparency in inheritance procedures. It was determined that harmonisation of national legal systems with international standards is a necessary condition for the development of a comprehensive model of digital inheritance. The study concludes that only an interdisciplinary and international approach ensures a balance between heirs’ rights, societal interests, and the challenges of technological progress. The practical significance of the results lies in their potential application for the development of effective legislative initiatives and law enforcement practices in the field of digital inheritance
