How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The rapid development of CubeSat technologies has increased the demand for compact and energy-efficient antenna systems capable of providing stable inter-satellite communication under strict limitations of size, mass, and onboard power. This paper presents the design and electromagnetic evaluation of a narrow- directional Yagi–Uda antenna integrated with a solar panel for S-band CubeSat applications. The proposed configuration combines communication and power generation within a single structural element, allowing more efficient utilization of the spacecraft surface while reducing the number of individual components. The antenna dimensions were determined using analytical calculations and subsequently optimized by numerical simulation in the Ansys HFSS environment. Electromagnetic analysis was performed to evaluate the reflection coefficient, voltage standing wave ratio, radiation pattern, operating bandwidth, and antenna gain. The simulation results demonstrate a resonant frequency of 2.29 GHz, an operating bandwidth of approximately 300 MHz, and a directional radiation pattern with a gain of 9.53 dBi. These characteristics indicate that the proposed design can improve communication efficiency while reducing transmission energy consumption. The developed antenna represents a practical solution for future CubeSat missions requiring compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient inter-satellite communication systems.
