How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Hotels are among the most resource- and energy-intensive commercial buildings, yet circular-economy and energy-efficiency practices are seldom examined jointly, and evidence from Central Asia is almost absent. The purpose of the article is to determine how these practices are implemented in internationally branded five-star hotels operating in Kazakhstan and to propose a sequenced implementation framework. Semi-structured interviews with sustainability-responsible managers of four hotels in Astana, Almaty and Aktau were triangulated with corporate documentation and coded against an explicit maturity rubric. Energy efficiency is established in all four cases; circularity is established in one and developing in three. Maturity declines as practices move beyond the boundary of the individual property.
