Abstract
The article examines the current state of the competitiveness of the Kazakhstan economy and its development prospects. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to ensure sustainable growth of the national economy amid global economic changes, increase investment attractiveness, and strengthen the country's position in international markets. The main advantages of the Kazakhstan economy include abundant natural resources, a favorable geographical location, significant transport and logistics potential, a developing financial infrastructure, and expanding international economic relations. At the same time, the commodity-oriented structure of the economy, relatively low labor productivity, inflationary pressures, insufficient diversification of investments, and the high share of the public sector in the economy remain key constraints to improving competitiveness. International assessments indicate that the Kazakhstan economy recorded high economic growth in 2025, although a slowdown in growth may occur in the medium term. Therefore, key priorities include economic diversification, development of the manufacturing industry, wider adoption of innovation and digital technologies, improvement of human capital quality, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and enhancement of the competitive environment. The findings indicate that reducing the economy's dependence on raw materials and developing high-value-added industries and technology-intensive sectors are essential conditions for ensuring Kazakhstan's long-term competitiveness.
