How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications on ecocriticism and literature from 2005 to 2025. Using the Bibliometrix package (Biblioshiny) in RStudio, we analysed 1,108 documents to track the field’s growth, trace its intellectual structure, and detect its key trends. Our findings show an annual growth rate of 19.15%, with the Anthropocene and climate fiction (cli-fi) emerging as priority topics. Strategic maps helped us classify the field’s driving themes and emerging directions. Overall, the results show that ecocriticism has moved past classical literary analysis toward an interdisciplinary ecological paradigm. We hope this analysis results in a useful conceptual guide for future research.
