How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The article examines the life and socio-political activities of Hasan Nurmukhamedov, a prominent representative of the early twentieth-century Alash movement and an active participant in the government of Western Alashorda. Particular attention is paid to his personal development, formative years, and activities in the religious sphere. The study aims to comprehensively examine his socio-political, religious, and educational activities, reveal his contribution to the implementation of Alash ideas and the activities of Western Alashorda, and explore his fate and that of his descendants in the context of Soviet repression, national statehood, and historical memory. Drawing on archival and scholarly sources, the study highlights Nurmukhamedov’s contribution to the Alash movement and traces his persecution during the Soviet period. His religious, educational, social, and political activities are considered in close connection with the history of Western Alashorda. The research demonstrates the significance of Alash ideas and their continuity with the national interests of independent Kazakhstan. Special attention is given to the tragic fate of Western Alashorda figures subjected to political persecution and repression. Documentary evidence illustrates the pressure exerted on Hasan Nurmukhamedov by Soviet authorities. The article also examines the activities and achievements of his descendants in education and science. It considers the importance of the Alash leaders’ struggle for national statehood and their role in Kazakhstan’s history. These developments are analyzed in the context of the “blank spots” of national history, particularly the fate of representatives of traditional Islam who suffered during the repressive period. The study emphasizes the historical significance of restoring information about these individuals and their contribution to national development. Overall, the research contributes to preserving historical memory, restoring previously overlooked aspects of Kazakhstan’s history, and strengthening national consciousness and understanding of the historical legacy of the Alash movement.
