Abstract
The article discusses current trends in the development of wind energy and the prospects for the use of wind power plants in autonomous and decentralized power supply systems. The analysis of the principles of operation, design features and classification of wind power plants, as well as factors affecting the efficiency of their operation, is carried out. Special attention is paid to the assessment of the wind potential of the territory, the conditions for the placement of wind turbines and the selection of their main technical parameters. The advantages and disadvantages of horizontal and vertical axial wind power plants, issues of environmental safety, economic efficiency and the possibility of using wind-diesel energy complexes are considered. The main methods for determining the estimated capacity, annual electricity generation, and technical and economic indicators of wind power plants are presented. The analysis of the prospects for the development of wind energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out, taking into account the natural and climatic conditions, the growing demand for renewable energy sources and the need to increase the energy independence of remote consumers. It is concluded that it is advisable to introduce modern wind energy technologies as one of the most promising areas for the development of renewable energy, ensuring a reduction in the consumption of traditional energy resources, reducing the negative impact on the environment and improving the reliability of electricity supply to autonomous facilities.
