How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The increasing demand for electricity and the imperative for sustainable energy systems underscore the need for modernization of Kazakhstan's power grid. This paper explores the potential of integrating Smart Grid technologies and nuclear power plants (NPPs) to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and environmental sustainability of Kazakhstan’s energy infrastructure. Current challenges, including high transmission losses, outdated infrastructure, and limited renewable energy integration, are examined through a comprehensive data analysis. By reviewing global case studies and conducting a scenario-based analysis, we assess the impact of Smart Grid and NPP integration on Kazakhstan’s energy system. Key areas of focus include real-time energy management, load balancing, and the potential economic benefits of reducing energy losses. The paper also discusses the role of Smart Grid data in optimizing NPP operations to complement variable renewable energy sources (RES) like solar and wind. Additionally, we address cybersecurity risks and the regulatory framework needed to support a fully integrated system. Our findings suggest that the synergy between Smart Grids and NPPs can significantly reduce transmission losses, stabilize energy supply, and promote the effective use of RES in Kazakhstan. This paper concludes with policy recommendations and strategic insights to guide the country’s transition to a more efficient and resilient energy grid.[10][11][12]
