How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The article analyzes the transformation of external migration and its impact on the labor market of Almaty under the conditions of changes in regional migration dynamics after 2022. The methodological framework of the study includes a quantitative and qualitative analysis of statistical data on migration flows for the period from 2000 to 2024, with a particular focus on trends before and after 2022. The main findings indicate that, overall, positive changes in migration dynamics have been observed since 2022: the “brain drain” has decreased, while the inflow of qualified migrants has increased. The econometric analysis demonstrated that the migration of individuals with secondary vocational education is statistically significantly associated with a decline in the unemployment rate in Almaty, whereas aggregate migration flows do not demonstrate a statistically significant and stable relationship with labor market parameters. The study emphasizes that, despite the positive changes in migration dynamics after 2022, the quantitative impact of migration on the labor market of Almaty remains limited and is largely associated with external factors.
