How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The study explores the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in creating a language learning environment during foreign language instruction at the tertiary level. The primary objective is to analyze the pedagogical effectiveness of ICT in fostering language proficiency and modeling an immersive language environment. In order to achieve this aim, 35 3rd-year students of Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after Alkey Margulan were recruited to participate in the study. The study involved the implementation of a massive open online course (MOOC) “Active Communication”. The study employed a pre-test and post-test design, indicating that the participants’ language proficiency was assessed both before and after they were exposed to the ICT based foreign language instruction. This design enables the researchers to measure the potential improvement of outcomes by comparing the scores obtained from the two tests. The findings indicate an increase in average test scores from 59 % to 76,4 % following the intervention. The study confirms that ICT, when integrated through grounded pedagogical approaches, can successfully replicate the functions of a natural language environment and contribute to better academic results.
