How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Dissecting cellulitis of the scalp is a rare chronic inflammatory disorder of the scalp, leading to the development of abscesses, sinus tracts, and cicatricial alopecia. The aim of this study was to systematize recent data (2015-2025) on the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of dissecting cellulitis of the scalp. Materials and Methods. A review of systematic reviews, clinical studies, and case series published between 2015 and 2025 was conducted. The analysis demonstrated that follicular occlusion and cytokine-mediated inflammation (TNF-α, IL-17) play a key role in the pathogenesis of the disease. Systemic isotretinoin showed the highest efficacy (up to 90%), whereas antibiotics provide only temporary improvement. Biologic agents and JAK inhibitors appear promising for refractory cases. Procedural and surgical approaches are used in advanced stages. Current management strategies are shifting toward pathogenetically targeted therapies. Controlled studies are required to develop clinical guidelines.
