How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This study examines the functioning of the China–Kazakhstan railway transport corridor as a significant component of the Eurasian logistics system. The growth of freight transportation between China, Central Asia and Europe has strengthened Kazakhstan’s role as a transit and distribution hub and has transformed the country into an active participant in global supply chains. The aim of the study is to analyze the functioning of the China–Kazakhstan railway transport corridor and to assess the impact of digitalization on its efficiency under conditions of increasing freight flows. The research focuses on three interrelated areas: the dynamics and structural characteristics of freight flows, infrastructural and institutional constraints affecting corridor performance, and the role of digital technologies in improving railway logistics. The empirical basis of the research includes statistical data, sectoral reports and analytical materials covering the development of railway transportation between China and Kazakhstan in 2023–2025. The study identifies systemic bottlenecks, including limited capacity at border crossings, cargo flow imbalance, concentration of traffic at the Dostyk–Alashankou and Altynkol–Khorgos nodes, and procedural inefficiencies in customs and logistics operations. Special attention is paid to digital transformation, which reduces cargo processing time, increases transparency and improves operational coordination. The scientific significance of the study lies in the development of an integrated approach to assessing transport corridor efficiency by combining infrastructural, institutional and digital factors. The results show that digitalization should be considered not as an auxiliary tool, but as a key driver of transport system efficiency and resilience.
