How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Livestock farming is a key sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex, supporting the country's food security and the sustainable development of rural areas. The purpose of this study was to analyze the dynamics and regional characteristics of the slaughter and sale of livestock and poultry in live weight for the period 2019–2024 based on official statistical data. The study's database was provided by the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, covering the republic as a whole, as well as regions and cities of republican significance. The study employed statistical, comparative, and graphical analyses. Data processing was performed in Microsoft Excel, and the Point cartographic program was used to visualize regional differences. The study analyzed temporal trends, interregional differentiation, and the impact of administrative-territorial transformations on industry indicators. The study found that in 2019–2022, Kazakhstan experienced steady growth in livestock and poultry slaughter volumes, peaking in 2022. In 2023, a noticeable decline in the indicator was recorded, which may be associated with unfavorable climatic conditions, a reduction in the feed base, and higher production costs, followed by a partial recovery in volumes in 2024. Significant regional heterogeneity was observed: the Almaty, Turkestan, East Kazakhstan, and Akmola regions accounted for the largest share of the country's meat balance, whereas several regions experienced declines in production indicators. The results underscore the need for a differentiated approach to the development of meat livestock farming, taking into account regional specifics and strengthening measures to enhance the industry's sustainability amid contemporary economic and climatic challenges.
