How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This article examines the policy of internationalization of higher education in Kazakhstan under the influence of digitalization. This study is particularly relevant in the context of the midterm assessment of the implementation of the priorities for internationalization and digitalization of higher and postgraduate education outlined in the Concept for the Development of Higher Education and Science in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029. The relevance of the study is also determined by the need to adapt national education policy to modern digital and international challenges, including the development of online education, virtual academic mobility, and global educational platforms. The aim of the article is to analyze the key areas of digitalization's impact on the internationalization of higher education, as well as to identify the main challenges and prospects for Kazakhstan. Based on an analysis of regulatory legal acts, strategic documents, and Kazakh and international literature, the authors systematize the current state, challenges, and prospects for the development of higher education internationalization policy under the influence of digital transformation. Furthermore, in pilot mod using the example of nine Kazakh universities a correlation between digitalization and internationalization is identified. A typology of universities related to so-called digital internationalization was also compiled. For a comprehensive assessment, the authors propose the introduction of an Index (ranking) of digital internationalization of universities in Kazakhstan. The study found that digitalization facilitates the expansion of forms of internationalization through the development of such phenomena as virtual mobility, online education, and digital academic networks.
