How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The intestinal microbial community significantly contributes to the overall health and productivity of pigs. The development of the animal’s immune system, metabolism, gastrointestinal health, and resistance to pathogen colonization all depends on its condition. An imbalanced gut microbiota or reduced microbial diversity in the early stages of life leads to long-term health consequences. The first weeks of life are a critical period for microbial colonization, as the microbiome structure is unstable and highly susceptible to environmental changes. Shifts in microbial species composition occur during growth and development, forming an interdependent system with the host organism. The gut microbiota is highly sensitive to changes in external factors. It is directly influenced by the physiological state of the animals, diet, housing conditions on pig farms, and the use of antibiotics during rearing. An optimal microbial profile is crucial for animal welfare and the profitability of pig production.
