How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This study explores effective ways of applying problem-based learning methods to develop students' critical thinking skills in physics education. The research was conducted during the 2023–2024 academic year with the participation of 9th-grade students from Secondary School No. 2 in Kosshy, Akmola Region. The problem-based learning method facilitated the development of students' logical and analytical thinking, the search for effective problem-solving strategies, and the ability to justify their viewpoints. The article analyzes the key principles of problem-based learning, its role in fostering critical thinking, and specific examples of its application in physics lessons. During the study, students were presented with problem-based questions, research assignments, and qualitative problems, which helped enhance their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations. Experimental data confirmed the effectiveness of problem-based learning methods, demonstrating that they increase students' interest in the subject and encourage active participation. The study's findings can be useful in pedagogical practice, curriculum development, and the creation of methodological guidelines. Keywords: critical thinking, physics teaching methods, problem-based learning (PBL), educational process, problem situations, teaching technologies.
