How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Despite the widespread use of social media in everyday life, research on certain aspects of educators' professional use remains limited. This chapter explores how teachers construct their professional identities linguistically in online spaces by examining evaluative stance-taking in posts from the r/Teachers community through the Attitude system of Appraisal Theory. The corpus for this study consists of naturally occurring discourse from in-service teachers on the public online forum r/Teachers on Reddit. The dataset includes eighty Reddit contributions collected over a one-month period, comprising posts written by eighty individual users from the r/Teachers community. The findings demonstrate that teacher identity in Reddit discourse is not a fixed or uniform construct, but rather a dynamic, emotionally saturated, and ethically grounded process, continuously negotiated through language. The findings expand teacher identity research beyond conventional data sources and emphasize the role of digital spaces as important sites of professional meaning-making.
