How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

As is known, the choice of sintering temperature for composite ceramics is one of the key technological parameters that determines the formation of their phase composition, microstructure and, consequently, a set of physical, mechanical and operational properties. This paper presents the results of the influence of variations in the sintering temperature of composite Aluminium Oxide–Zirconium Dioxide (Al2O3 – ZrO2) ceramics with the addition of a stabilizing Vanadium Pentoxide (V2O5) dopant, the presence of which allows for the initiation of the formation of buffer layers that have a positive effect on strengthening and growth of resistance to external influences. During the studies, it was established that the optimal temperature conditions for obtaining composite ceramics are sintering at a temperature of 1200 °C. Moreover, if the annealing temperature increases above 1200 °C, uncontrolled grain growth and agglomeration, which has a negative impact on the change in the strength characteristics of ceramics, are observed. It should be noted that the general trend of changes in the strength parameters of the studied composite ceramics depending on the sintering temperature in the range from 1200 to 1500 °C indicates a small increase in strength properties (less than 2.5 – 3.0 %) with an increase in temperature by 100 – 300 °C when compared with the results of strength characteristics obtained for samples at a sintering temperature of 1200 °C. The relevance and novelty of the research lies in determining the optimal conditions for the synthesis of composite ceramics, under which high-strength ceramics can be obtained for a wide range of practical applications.
