Abstract

Objective. To compare the influence of blood coagulation system and folate cycle gene polymorphisms on the course of COVID-19 and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). Patients and methods. A molecular genetic study was conducted on patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and HLPS using the RealBest Extraction and RealBest Genetics Hemostasis (12) reagent kit to determine the polymorphism of genes F2: 20210 G/A, F5: 1691 G/A, F7: 10976 G/A, F13A1: c.103 G/T, FGB: -455 G/A, ITGA2: 807 C/T, ITGB3: 1565 T/C, PAI-1: -675 5G/4G, MTR: 2756A/G, MTRR: 66 A/G, MTHFR: 677 C/T, and MTHFR: 1298 A/C on a CFX96 recording amplifier (Bio-Rad, USA). Results. The influence of minor polymorphisms of the ITGA2: 807 C/T (rs1126643), MTHFR: 1298 A/C (rs1801131), MTHFR: 677 C/T (rs1801133), PAI-1: -675 5G/4G (rs1799889) on the development of severe disease in both HFRS and COVID-19. Conclusion. HFRS and COVID-19 have common similar mechanisms of pathogenesis caused by the influence of minor polymorphisms of the ITGA2: 807 C/T, MTHFR: 1298 A/C, MTHFR: 677 C/T, and PAI-1: -675 5G/4G genes. Minor alleles of the ITGA2: 807 C/T (rs1126643), MTHFR: 1298 A/C (rs1801131), MTHFR: 677 C/T (rs1801133), PAI-1: -675 5G/4G (rs1799889) are prognostic genetic markers of increased risk of developing severe COVID-19 and HFRS.
